“I’m putting wings on pigs today. They take 1 of ours, let’s take 2 of theirs,” This is the statement that Ismaayll Brisnley made on his Instagram, just shortly before he took it upon himself to kill two of New York’s finest.
Brinsley, an African American 28 year old, was upset over the deaths of Eric Garner and Michael Brown. and unfortunately he took his frustrations out on police officers, Wenjian Liu and Raphael Ramos, who were sitting in their police car, and had no idea that Brinsely was targeting them.
While Brinsely thought he was avenging the deaths of these two young men, Brown and Garner, these two officers were not responsible or involved in any part of these incidences. Michael Brown’s family wanted to share compassion for the families and friends for the two officers, and released this statement below.
“We reject any kind of violence directed toward members of law enforcement. It cannot be tolerated. We must work together to bring peace to our communities,” read the statement from the family. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the officers’ families during this incredibly difficult time.”
Brinsely did not end his acts of violence after he left the police in their car. The young man then decided to take his own life on a New Work City subway platform.
It is clear that no matter what your opinion may be, that this act of violence did not achieve anything, and what Brinsley thought he was doing was an act of a martyr was indeed in vain, as everyone agrees violence like this never solves anything it just makes it worse.
