Uefa will reimburse Liverpool fans who bought tickets for the Champions League final in France in 2022.

This comes after an external assessment decided that Uefa had “major responsibility” for the disorderly environment before the game

As supporters outside the Stade de France in Paris were herded and sprayed with tear gas, the kickoff was delayed.

According to Uefa, all 19,618 tickets that Liverpool FC was allotted for the final will be paid.

Theodore Theodoridis, general secretary of Uefa, said, “We have taken into account a large number of public and private comments, and we believe we have created a framework that is comprehensive and equitable.”

Some spectators had difficulty entering the stadium on game day, therefore we are refunding those who bought tickets in advance.

Since Liverpool fans bought tickets via the club rather than Uefa, Liverpool will be responsible for refunding those fans.

Understandably, Uefa and French authorities first laid the responsibility for the turmoil outside the stadium on ticketless fans.

Following the May 28 final, an investigation was launched that determined there was “no evidence” to support the  allegations.

The research made 21 recommendations to ensure that “everything possible” be done to prevent a recurrence of the incident.

Liverpool supporters welcome the “amazing” resolution

Spirit of Shankly and the Liverpool Disabled Supporters’ Association have “welcomed” the “amazing” resolution

According to a statement, Uefa has “gone some distance toward recognizing its role in the disaster” by agreeing to compensate supporters.

“But, Uefa is still responsible for adopting the findings and recommendations of the independent investigation.

Once we learn more about how and when refunds will be processed, we will update Liverpool and the general public.

The exoneration of Liverpool fans was “very significant,” according to manager Jürgen Klopp, whose club lost the final.

Both the law firm representing Liverpool fans in their lawsuit against Uefa over the events in Paris and the law firm representing Liverpool players in their lawsuit against Uefa over the events in Paris have stated that they intend to pursue their legal claims in an effort to secure appropriate compensation for their clients.
