Some UFC feuds transcend past the ring, but in this particular dispute. it’s not two fighters who have been exchanging words.
A lot of people have be hearing about the “beef” between Women’s Bantamweight Champ Ronda Rousey, and Arianny Celeste, an Octagon ring card girl. The feud has been going on for some months now, and Celeste has called Rousey, “A big bully.”
Rousey responded to Celeste’s accusations of being a bully by asking, “What did I say that I was a bully? That the fighters should get paid more than the ring girls? How does that make me a bully? That makes me f–king right,’’ she went on to add, “I’m sorry, but she wouldn’t have a job if it wasn’t for the fighters. She wouldn’t.’’
Celeste who has turned being a ring girl into a full time career, is proud of her accomplishments; accomplishments that apparently do not impress the fighter.
Rousey exclaims how she does not feel that being a ring girl is an act to be proud of by saying, “Do you think her walking in circles around the two guys or two girls out there, like, fighting for their lives, is worth more? You think she works harder than they do? I didn’t say that she needed a pay cut. I said either the ring card girls are paid too much, or the fighters aren’t paid enough.”
Celeste told MMA Junkie that she barley knows Rousey, and does not understand why Rousey dislikes her by stating, “I’m not going to talk about her because I’m not a fighter, I’m not going to waste my time. I actually don’t talk about anyone. It blows my mind that someone who doesn’t even know me continuously picks on me. And that’s all I see her as: a big bully.”
