Ukraine’s capital Kyiv comes under air attack, blasts heard

Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, experienced an air attack on Saturday, according to Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko. Although there is no immediate information on casualties, loud explosions were heard. This marks the first attack on Kyiv since late September. Klitschko reported that the explosions occurred on the left bank of the river Dnipro. He also mentioned that preliminary reports suggest that air defense systems were activated against ballistic missiles. Just minutes before the explosions, air alerts were issued for Kyiv and the surrounding region. In response, city authorities advised residents to seek shelter. The reporting was done by Olena Harmash, with editing by Robert Birsel. The article adheres to The Thomson RushHourDaily Trust Principles.
