Sometimes, the deaths of individuals tend to stump investigators at the scene of the crime. This seems to be the case for two traveling sisters from the United States. According to CNN, two women were found dead at a resort by officials. The news has people all over the nation wondering what their cause of death really was.
The two women were found earlier this week. CNN reports that autopsies performed on both of the women showed that both died of excess fluid in their lungs. No signs of physical injuries have been found on the bodies of either woman. One of the women found also had excess fluid found in her brain, which contributed to her death as well.
CNN also reports that the victims were relatively young women. Robin and Anne Korkki (ages 42 and 37 respectively), were at an island nation off the east coast of Africa when they passed. After authorities found both women, officials contacted the nearest United States embassy. Though no information is being given out directly from that office due to a pending investigation, people are reporting that several calls to that embassy were left unanswered.
The many questions left behind are leading some to take matters into their own hands. CNN also released statements made from family members of the two victims.
“At this pint, the only details we know are the articles flying aroun online. Two things keep going through my mind: This isn’t happening, and we just want answers.”
The untimely death of anyone is a matter that often catches the attention of people all over the world. As the family and friends of these two women continue to search for answers, so do investigators. It will be interesting to see how all those involved will come together to find out what really happened.
