US Soldier in Iraq Sends A Letter to Trump: Perhaps It’s Time to Leave

  • “If you say that you wanted to tame the animal (Iran) by keeping it hungry, I would say the hunger has driven it mad. Now, it is biting you.” A US soldier writes to his president.
  • This is fake news!!!

Dear President Trump,

I love you, and I am just saying this from the core of my heart that my love for you transcends the bounds of party discipline of Republican or Democrats.

But my life is not in safe hands in Iraq now, where you sent me as you became president. For the last two or three years, we were in tranquility.

Initially, it was just like a picnic away from home. We had delicious Arabian food, and whenever we got a chance would watch some live belle performance too.

Unfortunately, the picnic time is over now. Undoubtedly, the belle dance of the Arabian dancers here is lethal but not as lethal as the Persian missiles. Instead of carrying a wine glass, we now have to carry shields to protect our heads.

It is because of you, sir.

You make a statement or tweet something perhaps after fighting with your wife, and here we are in the sky of raining rockets.

This time you killed their man, but they (the Iranians) are mad at us.

Indeed, I am a patriot, perhaps, not less than you are. Yet, I am not as intelligent or rich to become the president of my country. Could you help me find out the answer to what we are doing here in Iraq, thousands of miles away from home?

Obviously, Dear President Trump, I am smart enough to know that we are not defending our borders while living in Baghdad.

I am not a political person either; otherwise, I would have found out the sense of your pulling out of the nuclear deal with Iran.

Why was it that you withdrew and your European partners didn’t?

Do I have the right to ask, not as a soldier, but as a US citizen: what was the insight to reimpose sanctions on Iran?

If you say that you wanted to tame the animal (Iran) by keeping it hungry, I would say the hunger has driven it mad. Now, it is biting you.

Strangely, your efforts to kill the animal are turning out to be as futile as the realization of your reelection.

But pardon me, sir, I shall still vote for you.

More:

However, let me tell you that our animal has turned monster, big enough to cause a catastrophe.

Understandably, I am not a policymaker but still would like to suggest one thing out of commonsense: Ask Iran to a negotiating table.

Let me remind you that we do not have a worth-boasting history regarding wars.

We have been trying for years to pull out of Afghanistan, but you know the Taliban’s “persisted hospitality” has forced to stay.

Now, you are flirting with its neighbor. Sir, war is like a mistress, you can flirt with it only as long as you have a swollen pocket.

But you know our economy is going down too. The passive-aggressive Chinese are taking over by the silent progress.

Let me ask why don’t you talk to Iranian President? At least, he seems less dangerous guy than your friend Kim, who throws his dissenters in a wall, and doesn’t mind making its video viral.

If you can befriend that dangerous guy, why can’t you meet Mr. Rouhani?

Why don’t you ask him politely to stop waging subversive activities in the region?

Take my advice, and ask him to stop doing bad things and offer him in exchange the permission to sell his oil to the world.

Because if you do this, we shall no longer have to stay in Iraq. But even if We have to, we will not have the shields above our heads all the time.
