Valentine’s Day is approaching, and quickly. While the chances of securing a boyfriend in the next three weeks is becoming increasingly slimmer, those with significant others are most likely looking forward to a romantic evening out. The unlucky ones (depending on what you’re looking for in life), are left with a night full of a whole lot of nothing. So what’s a single gal to do on Hallmark card’s dream holiday? Check it out.
1) Drink
Newly single? Nothing can drown your sorrows more than a nice bottle of Barefoot white wine and a box of chocolates. Throw all cautions to the wind (diet wise) today and starting munching, and drinking. Your stomach, and head, may be screaming in protest the next day, but it was worth it.
2) Hit a movie (on your couch that is)
The absolute one place to avoid on V-day is the movies. It’s packed with sappy couples who can’t seem to keep their arms, or lips, off of each other. Don’t subject yourself to that kind of torture. Grab a blanket and a friend, pop in She’s the Man and start watching. Your couch has never looked better.
3) Cook a gourmet meal
Grab your BFF, as long as she’s single, put on some Ed Sheeran and start cooking. Nothing’s more satisfying than feeding yourself a delicious meal, and dodging restaurants on this day of love is a must in order to avoid all things lovey-dovey.
4) Snuggle with your dog
No one loves you more than your dog, so if all else fails snuggle up with him in your bed and put on your favorite Netflix show. There’s nothing like binge watching Scandal with your pup to brighten up your romance-less day.
5) Online shop
The good thing about being single is that you didn’t have to spend any money on an annoying Valentine’s Day gift for your significant other. This only means one thing; it’s time to make up for the loss with a little online shopping therapy. Whip out your MacBook and start spending, on yourself. The only thing worse than spending your precious money on a guy is failing to online shop when you have the dough (you’re closet will thank you for this).
