Why Obama’s Trump Tirade Might’ve Backfired.

Barrack Obama blasted Donald Trump on Tuesday in reference to his Speech from Monday dealing with the response to the Orlando Shooting. In Trump’s speech, he ripped into Hillary Clinton’s plan to increase refugees coming into the United States and repealing Second Amendment rights. In what would have been a great opportunity for the president to reach a calm, presidential tone in hopes of unifying both parties following the tragedy turned out to be a heated attacked aimed towards the Business Mogul.

Obama’s remarks were very unusual given the circumstances to what took place at the Pulse nightclub during the after hours of Saturday. In fact, many critics have slammed Obama’s approach and were confused to the path he had directed his anger towards seeming  to be more towards the Presumptive Republican nominee than at the Pulse nightclub shooter. It appeared as if Obama was treading a similar terrain with his angry fear mongering statements.

Mike Rogers, former head of the House Intelligence Committee on CNN had this to say, “This was the chance for the President to try to bring us together. I think he is so focused on this presidential campaign he let himself go,” He continued, “I just don’t think it looked presidential.” These remarks for Obama seemed well off-base from his calm articulate approach. The same approach he used when he began his apology tour visiting Hiroshima in Japan, Cuba and now Orlando. During a rally in Greensboro North Carolina Donald Trump weighed in on the Obama episode, “The level of anger, that’s the kind of anger that he should have

These remarks for Obama seemed well off-base from his calm articulate approach. The same approach he used when he began his apology tour visiting Hiroshima in Japan, Cuba and now Orlando. During a rally in Greensboro North Carolina Donald Trump weighed in on the Obama episode, “The level of anger, that’s the kind of anger that he should have for the shooter and these killers that shouldn’t be here,” Trump said. “He was more angry at me than he was at the shooter.” Obama has been a strong supporter

Obama has been a strong supporter for more gun control reforms stating in a visit to Orlando the similarity in weapons used in the Aurora shootings and San Bernandino. Obama, who had been calling for Congress to require tougher background checks on weapons sold in soft gun zones, will now likely push to ban weapons such assault rifles used by the Orlando shooter. Trump, on the other hand, has been a strong supporter of keeping American’s armed in case of another threat like this were to happen by a radical extremist. The failure of Obama to speak out about the growing threat of ISIS within U.S borders is making it harder for people to justify his attacks aimed at Trump.
