“Fifty Shades of Grey” was a phenomenon when it hit the bookshelves. Women everywhere rushed from their homes to get a copy of the book. Not only is it a good read but also it’s female porn and even women enjoy that on occasion. The movie will hit screens Valentine’s Day and will have the same sex appeal as the book. Instead of using your imagination, you will be able to see your favorite characters get it on. Though the question is, will you be comfortable watching this when other people surround you? The ladies of “The View” asked this very same question.
The film is R rated instead of NA or X, which means that it’s not completely porno. Though enough will be seen in a 100 min long movie. Imagine when you go to the movies, who are you with? Friends? Family? Your mother? Consider this, you’re sitting there in a dark room, there is at least 50 people around you and you all embark on a journey of steamy sex. How do you react? For many women, this isn’t even a question. If you were continent enough to read the book in public then you will have no problem watching it in public.
The topic of the rating is in question as well, as with R rated movies, the female vagina can be seen but not the male penis. As some hearts are crushed that we will not be able to see “Young Christian Grey” others ask why? Why can a women’s vagina be seen and not a males penis?
The idea of sexuality is still a huge conflict in society, what can be seen, what can’t be seen and the most important, what people really want to see. As women, we know what a penis looks like. There is no surprise there. A penis should be shown just as a vagina.
