The All England Club said that a decision regarding Wimbledon for this year would be taken next week. Last Wednesday, in a statement, the clubs said that the events which were scheduled from 29th June to 12th July would be canceled or postponed due to the impact of this deadly coronavirus outbreak. And now playing behind the closed doors are also not in the regime. Previously French Open was scheduled in May, but earlier this month, it is rescheduled to 20th September-4th October. Previously ATP and WTA tours were postponed until 27th April and 2nd May, respectively, but in the last week, that suspension was extended until 7th June.
Their measures
All the sites of the club at the All England Club, Raynes Park and Wimbledon Park Golf Club is presently off with physical operations due to a minimum to maintain the grass courts along with the security of the sites. The statement also added that delaying the only Grand Slam grass-court recent in this year, “is not without significant risk and difficulty”.

Richard Lewis, the chief executive, said that the coronavirus outbreak had affected our lives in many ways, and those ways are completely beyond the imagination. They are concerned about all those affected people in the United Kingdom and around the globe. He also added, “the single most important consideration is one of public health, and we are determined to act responsibly through the decisions we make.”
They are working hard in order to bring stability to the plans for 2020 and arranged an emergency meeting of the main board for the next week, and there a decision will surely be made.
Analysis
It can be logically assumed that in the next week, when All England Club meets, it can conclude that it will not be appropriate to stage the Championship in 2020. In this kind of situation, playing behind closed doors has been formally ruled out. And that’s why it seems Wimbledon will not be able or allowed or welcome 40,000 people on the site regularly. Actually, an event with this much crowd can put more pressure on the health system and police.

In order to craft the site at a fast pace for the fortnight was scheduled to begin at the end of the next month. But to do that, the process requires a significant number of people there. But at this time, any kind of gathering is restricted. There, a gap has been found in the schedule with the postponement of the Tokyo Olympic 2020, but we can guess that just three weeks of the gap will not make much of a difference. In this kind of terrifying situation, it will not be ideal to follow the French Open’s lead and arrange the Championship in September.
