At least nine people were found dead early Sunday in the back of a cramped, overheated 18-wheeler in a San Antonio, Texas Walmart parking lot, according to authorities who described the immigrant-smuggling tragedy. A 23-year-old Texas woman has been arrested upon the discovery of 75 pounds of liquid crystal methamphetamine located inside her vehicle, according to the Austin police report. Authorities believe the street value of the drugs is a whopping $2 million. As the opioid epidemic continues to grow, young children are now unwillingly facing the consequences. Humans Have Produced Over 9 Billion Tons of Plastic in Less Than 70 Years

More than 9.1 billion tons of plastic has been produced since the 1950s and most of it has made Earth its permanent home. A new global study published Wednesday in the journal Science Advances reveals the first attempt made by researchers to measure the total amount of plastic on earth since the beginning of its mass production.
