Personality! The first thing that we notice in any person. But have you ever noticed “personality disorder” in anyone? No? It’s no strange because many people all over the world do not know what exactly personality disorders are. We can briefly understand what personality disorders are and the different types of personality disorders.

What is Personality Disorder?

A personality disorder is a mental disorder in which the way a person thinks, behaves, and does work. This is a shift from the usual way of doing these things. In such a situation, the person having the personality disorder faces problems in maintaining relationships and executing daily activities of life.

There are different types of personality disorders that are listed below.

  1. Paranoid Personality Disorder:

The person with this personality disorder lacks the trust towards others and holds the feeling of distrust even for his/her friends, family, and close relatives. He cannot trust people easily and thinks that everybody is betraying or deceiving him/her.

  1. Borderline Personality Disorder:

In Borderline personality disorder, the person experiences the feelings of loneliness, emptiness, and suffer from the fear of abandonment. It causes emotional instability and can result in anger, violence, etc.

  1. Schizotypal Personality Disorder:

The symptoms of schizotypal personality disorder include peculiar behavior, appearance, and speech. The people who have schizotypal personality disorder are observed to have unusual perceptual experiences.

  1. Antisocial Personality Disorder:

An antisocial personality disorder is mostly observed in men than in women. The person having the antisocial disorder is less or not concerned about the feeling of others. They do not have a sense of guilt; they are aggressive and disregards social rules and regulations.

  1. Histrionic Personality Disorder:

People who have histrionic personality disorder usually lack a sense of their own worth and generally depends on gaining the attention of other people for their well-being. It is also observed that they tend to dramatize to be heard or seen by others.

  1. Schizoid Personality Disorder:

In Schizoid personality disorder, people generally restrict themselves in their inner life and like to stay away from the external world. They detach themselves from social relationships.

  1. Avoidant Personality Disorder:

In Avoidant personality disorder, people mostly feel inferior to others, unappealing, and have a fear of being criticized and embarrassed. This disorder is somewhere related to anxiety disorder in which people have a fear of getting rejected or failing.

  1. Dependent Personality Disorder:

As the name suggests, people having Dependent personality disorder gets too much dependence on others and lacks self-confidence. They are not even able to take decisions on their own and always look for someone to do that for them.

  1. Narcissistic Personality Disorder:

In Narcissistic personality disorder, people possess an extreme feeling of self-importance and want others to admire them. They think of other people inferior to them.

  1. Anankastic Personality Disorder:

In this type of personality disorder, people extremely believe in a disciplined life with lots of rules, regulations, systematic organization, schedules, etc. They tend to have extreme perfectionism in every task.

A person is called healthy when he/she has a healthy MIND, BODY, and SOUL. But if any one of these three is not healthy, then you must take some actions to keep them healthy.
