American Jack Sock, the former world number eight, announced on Sunday that he will retire from tennis after the U.S. Open. Sock, 30, has had a successful career, winning four ATP singles titles and 17 tour-level doubles trophies. His notable achievements include the 2017 ATP Masters 1000 title in Paris, as well as men’s doubles titles at Wimbledon in 2014 and 2018 and the 2018 U.S. Open. He also won a mixed doubles gold medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics and a bronze in the men’s doubles. Sock is currently partnering with John Isner at Flushing Meadows, who is also set to retire after the U.S. Open. Sock expressed his gratitude and nostalgia for his tennis journey in an Instagram post, stating that the U.S. Open will be the final event of his career. The U.S. Open is scheduled to take place from Aug. 28 to Sept. 10. Reports suggest that Sock may transition to playing pickleball after his retirement.
