This a special time for cannabis startups as they enter new markets. Many companies look at the new states as a gold rush as they win over different businesses and consumers. Moreover, each company has different rules and regulations which the cannabis companies can navigate and explore.

Ten years ago, Cannabis was illegal all across the United States. However, things changed in 2012 when the voters in Washington and Colorado approved medical Marijuana. Although it’s still illegal on a national level, one in three Americans will be able to buy weed legally. Moreover, the pandemic has led to an increase in Cannabis sales.

1. New Jersey:

The New Jersey voters approved the legalized recreational Cannabis, with the effective date of January 1, 2020. New Jersey is also the first state in the mid-Atlantic region to pass this measure.

2. Montana:

The voters in Montana approved an amendment to legalize and set the use-age to 21. Moreover, recreational sales will start in January 2022.

3. Arizona:

After failing to pass a legalization bill in 2016, the American voters approved a proposition that legalized recreational Cannabis in Arizona. Moreover, retail sales are going to start on April 5, 2021, or sooner.

4. Mississippi:

The voters in Mississippi approved medical Marijuana through a ballot initiative. The state has until July 1, 2021, to establish the rules and regulations.

5. Oregon:

Oregon was the first state to approve the medical use of psilocybin, which is also called magic mushrooms. The medical use will come after a two-year development.
