China’s ambassador to London mentioned their demands stating that the Chinese telecoms giant Huawei should not have a part in its proposed 5G network like a “kind of witch-hunt”. Liu Xiaoming said that Huawei is getting targeted unfairly, and it has nothing in actual to do for the Chinese government.
The ‘Free market economy.’
Many senior Conservatives already warned Huawei regarding its involvement with the UK’s advanced mobile internet network, which is posing a security risk for the Chinese Government. It could even lead to the occurrence of the very first rebellion, which may take a significant shape against the government of Boris Johnson.
But here, Mr. Liu mentioned that the firm was operating independently completely from the Chinese state and proved to be a leader in the industry of 5G.
But he didn’t step back from Criticizing UK because of the 35% cap which the UK government had put on the involvement parameters of Huawei. Mr. Liu added that with such act the UK government is not keeping or following the principle based on which “free economy” concept is developed
When Mr. Liu was, when asked about the unhappy reaction of President Trump with the UK, he mentioned: “I will leave the prime minister to deal with President Trump”.
Mr. Liu added, “The UK can only be great when it has own independent foreign policy. I hope the prime minister will stay with the decision because I think it’s in the interest of the UK and maintaining Britain’s image as the most open and free-market economy in the world.”
What will be the solution for UK 5G?
Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab stated that the Huawei decision followed a “rigorous” review, which was done by the security experts. There will be a restriction for the involvement of the firm, while the senior Conservatives mentioned that there will be alternatives for the Chinese firm. The letter received from Owen Paterson, Sir Iain Duncan Smith, David Davis, Tobias Ellwood, Damian Green, and Bob Seely, and read by BBC, mentions that some of the specific MPs are now “working to find a better solution”.
“We are seeking to identify a means by which we ensure that only trusted vendors are allowed as primary contractors into our critical national infrastructure,” the letter mentions.
“Trusted vendors would be companies from countries that have fair market competition, the rule of law, respect human rights, data privacy, and non-coercive government agencies.”
What ban on Huawei Implemented by The UK?
Huawei is banned from supplying kit to the “sensitive parts” of this network. It will be responsible only for 35% of the kit of the network’s periphery. The firm’s equipment will be excluded from the zones which are near to military bases as well as nuclear sites.
