A mysterious murder caused by a road raging man caused the death of a Las Vegas mother who died on Valentine’s day.
The police took Eric Nowsch into custody on Thursday because it was believed that the distraught neighbor was out to kill the mother, Tammy Meyers ,because he has had a rocky history with the family before the shootout occurred.
SWAT team members surrounded Nowsch’s, 19, home on Thursday and authorities were able to arrest the teenager from his home. He was brought into police custody for questioning about the murder of Meyers.
While police are still searching for another suspect that was believed to be involved in the shooting, the husband of Meyers told authorities that he was a mentor to Nowsch, who has given him money, food, and told the teen to start dressing more appropriately. When Nowsch was arrested he was shirtless.
Robert Meyers told authorities, “We know this boy. I couldn’t tell you this before. He knew where I lived. We knew how bad he was but we didn’t know he was this bad.”
It was believed that Meyers was originally killed after an angry driver who followed her home after she gave her daughter a driving lesson. The mother was then shot and needed to be placed on life support.
The story gained a lot of media attention and donations were called upon for her funeral costs, quickly gaining the necessary funds while police were investigating.
While the lead suspect has been apprehended, Las Vegas police Capt. Chris Tomaino stated, “We still have a lot of investigative work to do.”
While many believed that Meyers was followed home, reports soon followed that the mother dropped her daughter off at home and continued to look for the driver who started the incident with a 9mm hand gun.
As the alleged new story developed it was revealed that the mother was unable to find the driver, but he found her and shot her outside of the Meyer’s home.
