The Holiday season always brings upon some of the most anticipated movies, and although “The Interview” may not be released this upcoming week, there are still noteworthy films that will be coming out on Christmas Eve.
“Into the Woods,” is a musical film that is based on the hit Broadway play. The film stars several a–list celebrities such as Johnny Depp, Anna Kendrick, Emily Blunt, and Meryl Streep the Witch. The story intertwines several classic fairy tales like “Jack and the Beanstalk,” “Little Red Riding Hood,” “Cinderella,” and “Rapunzel” With music that was originally written by Steven Sondheim, this fantasy film directed by Rob Marshall will most likely captivate the entire family.
“Unbroken,” is the next highly anticipated film, and is one, which is directed by Angelina Jolie. The film stars Jack O’Connell and Domhnall Gleeson and tells the incredible story of a United States Olympia and his journey through different struggles of his life, in particularly his service during the Second World War.
“Big Eyes” is a film directed by the artistic visionary, Tim Burton. The film follows the true story of Walter Keane, an inspirational and unique painter, played by Chrisoph Waltz and with support from Amy Adams and Jason Schwartzman.
Perhaps the least advertised of the films to be released on Christmas Eve is “Leviathan.” This upcoming drama is set around a Russian fisherman who is trying to fight to save his home. The film stars Alexey Serebryakov and Elena Lyadova, and is directed by Andrey Zvyaginstsev. This film is sure to gain a lot of attention upon its release.
