Life is full of adventures and special moments. These moments are shared with the most important people in our lives. Who’s better than your best friend to go on a spectacular new adventure with? Who was there on your most remembered Christmas (ironically the morning you received your dog)? Your friends and family are always there for you, supporting you, encouraging you and occasionally yelling at you (they do it with love).
It can be easy to forget how much the people in you’re life care about you, especially when you’re going through a stressful time at work or school and everything (and everyone) seems to be pushing against you instead of flowing with you. This holiday season can be a stressful one, so lets take a step back, and remember all the people you need to appreciate this winter.
Your mom is the person who listens to you complain about everything that’s going wrong in your life. She is the only person who truly cares how terrible your day was, and she’ll attempt to give you some of the sincerest advice you’ll find. Don’t forget to show her some special appreciation this winter, even after she makes you vacuum up every pine needle on the carpet.
2) The Best Friend
Chances are you and your bff have gone through some rough times this winter. Whether it was her break up, or your troubles at work, you both supported one another during some pretty difficult times. You owe yourselves a night out together. Buy her a drink—or let her buy you one—either way, use this time to remember and exemplify why you lover her so much.
3) Your Roommate
While your roommate may have been the cause for a few blowout fights this year (“who shrunk my favorite sweater?”), you still love her. From Friday girl’s nights to wild Saturday’s at the bars, she was there to help you find your bed after a long night. Try not to take her for granted, and do an extra load of laundry for her—just try not to shrink any of her clothes.
4) Your Dog
Your dog has been there for you from day one. And while you’ve gotten used to his furry little presence, it’s important not to forget how much you love him. Take him for a long walk once in a while, and play with him for at least an hour on the weekends. He’ll be happy, and so will you.
5) Yourself
Many people talk down to themselves, but it’s time to look around and think about everything you have achieved in the past year. Chances are you are talented, and not everyone can have as much as you do. Never forgot to appreciate yourself because you are the main person in your life, and you deserve to happy.
