Twice former champion Petra Kvitova easily advanced to the third round at Wimbledon on Friday, defeating Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovich 6-2 6-2 on Court Two. Despite her previous victories in 2011 and 2014, Kvitova has struggled to progress past the third round in recent years. However, in this match, both players made numerous errors, with Sasnovich in particular struggling. Sasnovich has never advanced beyond the fourth round in any Grand Slam tournament in her 10-year career. Kvitova, who won a grasscourt title in Berlin before Wimbledon, took control of the match early on and broke Sasnovich’s serve to win the first set. Although Sasnovich briefly broke back in the second set, Kvitova’s powerful groundstrokes and consistent play allowed her to regain control and secure victory in just 74 minutes. After the match, Kvitova expressed her satisfaction with the win, acknowledging the difficulty of playing against Sasnovich. She also expressed her love for the game and the incredible support she receives from the fans. Kvitova is currently the fifth-highest earning female player in tennis, with nearly $37 million in prize money.
