“Don’t be so desperate,” prominent playboy cover queen Holly Madison insisted while in an interview with E!, displaying her regretfulness so that other young women won’t make the same mistakes she did.
Madison, now 35, promoted her new explicit tell-all memoirs titled, Down the Rabbit Hole: Curious Adventures and Cautionary Tales of a Former Playboy Bunny, giving the public a glimpse into the personal hardships associated with the erotic photography and film industry, along with living in the Playboy mansion itself.
“It might seem like something fun and glamorous or rebellious and dangerous in your 20’s, but guess what? When you’re 30 or 40, you’re not going to want those pictures floating around.”
In her memoirs, Madison paints a vivid picture of life inside the Playboy mansion, with one excerpt illustrating her contempt for Kendra Wilkinson, a fellow cast member on the series Girls Next Door, along with having contemplated suicide because of her unwanted role as one of Hugh Hefner’s girlfriends, who she even claimed offered her drugs to mitigate her mood.
“I don’t regret it, I learned a lot from the situation,” Madison reassured.
When asked how she still feels about Hugh Hefner, she admitted that she thought she was in love with the now 89 year old erotic icon. However, she then went on to declare,
“I have no desire to see or talk to him… After some years pass, I don’t really find him to be a genuine person. I don’t care what his reaction is to this. I’m doing this for me and I’m doing this so people can learn from my mistakes.”
Down the Rabbit Hole is available in stores Tuesday.
