The comedian legend, Joan Rivers died at 1:17pm of today.
Melissa Rivers said in a statement:
“She passed peacefully at 1:17pm surrounded by family and close friends.My son and I would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Mount Sinai Hospital for the amazing care they provided for my mother.”
Last week Rivers, 81-year-old, was hospitalized when she stopped breathing during a procedure in a New York clinic. Immediately she was hospitalized at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, where she was announced deceased.
The New York Health Department opened an investigation of the Manhattan clinic where she was doing her procedure. For the moment the authorities would not comment until all investigations are complete.
E! Network cancelled “Fashion Police” for the next two weeks, where Rivers is the host. The usual cover from the New York Fashion week will be “E! from Fashion Week” a special from the network.
Her Fashion Police’s co-hosts and fans were all saddened by the news and since been sending best wishes and prayers to her. Rest in peace Joan Rivers.
