While many remember Katy Perry’s performance with the dancing sharks, the giant robotic lion and the comeback of Missy Elliot; the young performer will remember it as the night she “talked to God.”
Singer/songwriter, Katy Perry, who performed at this year’s Super Bowl claims that she received a message from God just before she took the stage for one of the most watched performances of the year, and she says that God, spoke to her directly.
Perry states, “It’s funny, I was praying and I got a word from God and He says, ‘You got this and I got you. And then I was on top of the lion and a guy, a random guy, just looked on me with a headset that I’ve never communicated with before and he just looked me straight in the eyes and said, ‘You got this.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, this is God confirming I can do this.”
The singer who grew up in a Christian household tweeted a Bible verse the day of the Super bowl, quoting Psalm 118:24, which reads, “Today is the day that the Lord has made! I will rejoice and be glad in it.”
She told Ryan Seacrest at the Grammy’s that her faith was what aided her in preparing and that she, “Over prepared myself and did a lot of prayer and meditation.”
