Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp has praised Ryan Gravenberch’s growing confidence since joining the team. Gravenberch, who signed from Bayern Munich on transfer deadline day, scored in Liverpool’s 2-0 Europa League victory over Union Saint Gilloise. The 21-year-old tapped in a rebound for the opener, and Diogo Jota sealed the win in added time. This victory keeps Liverpool at the top of Group E with a perfect record.
Gravenberch had been a regular player for Ajax Amsterdam, making 89 appearances in the last two seasons when the club won the title. However, his game time was limited after signing for Bayern in 2022, mostly coming off the bench. Since joining Liverpool, Gravenberch has started three games and provided assists in wins against Leicester City and LASK.
Klopp expressed his admiration for Gravenberch’s talent and highlighted his enjoyment and growing confidence in the team. The manager wanted to give Gravenberch a full 90 minutes on the pitch but decided to substitute him to avoid any risks. Klopp believes that everything is moving in the right direction for Gravenberch’s development.
Gravenberch himself described his goal as the “easiest” of his career and emphasized the importance of gaining confidence through playing minutes. Liverpool’s next match is against Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League on Sunday.
