Logitech has announced that they will be releasing a new gaming mouse today designed specifically for professional eSports players. By targeting pros, Logitech is aiming to please the most picky players in gaming. By targeting the mouse at pros, they are also targeting fans who want the same tech as the pros.

The Logitech G Pro Gaming Mouse is optimized for tournament play by the big earning eSports pros. The mouse has Logitech’s most accurate optical gaming sensor, a metal spring button tensioning system, onboard memory for driver-free operation, and a comfortable and durable lightweight design.

The Logitech G Pro Gaming Mouse is built upon the Logitech G100 line of mice which are meant to target fast speed, accuracy, and responsiveness.

Ujesh Desai, vice president and general manager of gaming at Logitech, said the following in a statement:

“The benefit of working with eSports players is that they tell us what they like, and more importantly, what they don’t like. Our new Logitech G Pro Gaming Mouse takes what eSports pros loved about the G100s and G303 and combines it into a mouse that we’re confident will meet their standards.”

Tyler “Skadoodle” Latham of Cloud 9’s CS:GO division also commented on the mouse:

“Competing at the top level requires a well-built mouse. After working closely with Logitech and extensive testing, the new Pro Gaming Mouse is my preferred mouse. With a comfortable shape and top-of-the-line sensor, I never have problems picking off my enemies.”

The optical gaming sensor, PMW3366, is said to have pixel-precise accuracy, which makes a critical difference in high-stakes competitive gameplay when trying to hit precise, pixel-perfect shots. The mouse also has an adjustable DPI range of 200 to 12,000. The metal spring button tensioning system makes the left and right buttons easier to click and the top surface of the new Pro Gaming Mouse is treated with a special coating to improve durability and grip. The left and right buttons are tested to exceed 20 million clicks which according to studies is the equivalent of a pro gamer training 10 hours every day for two years.

The mouse has onboard memory for driver-free operation on tournament systems, meaning that players can swap it out or in without the hassle of installing the mouse drivers on every new system they play on. Logitech has said that the mouse will be available this month in the U.S. and Europe for $70.
