Michael Brown Sr., the father of the 18-year-old Michael Brown who was shot to death by a police in Ferguson, Missouri, earlier this month, asked protesters to stop on Brown’s Monday funeral.
“I would like for no protesting going on,” Michael Brown Sr. said, according to Buzzfeed. “We just want a moment of silence that whole day. Just out of respect for our son.”
Since Brown’s death on Aug. 9, crowds have been protesting in St. Louis and heavily-armed police have been presented to control the situation.
Brown’s funeral would be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Friendly Temple Missionary Baptist Church in St. Louis. Reverend Al Sharpton would be speaking at the funeral, and three White House representatives were expected in attendance.
