Mitchell hundred propels New Zealand to 273 v India

Daryl Mitchell scored a quick 130 runs to help New Zealand reach a total of 273 against India in the ongoing 50-overs World Cup in Dharamsala on Sunday. India chose to field first and managed to dismiss both of New Zealand’s openers early on. However, India’s fielding was sloppy as they dropped three catches, giving New Zealand a chance to recover. Mitchell and Rachin Ravindra formed a strong partnership of 159 runs, taking New Zealand to 205-3 in the 37th over. At that point, it seemed like New Zealand would score over 300 runs, but the Indian bowlers managed to slow down the run rate. Mohammed Shami was particularly impressive, taking 5-54 in his first match of the tournament.
