The French President, Emmanuel Macron, and other political leaders will meet with Elon Musk on Monday at a business gathering outside of Paris, according to the Elysee Palace.
Macron and Tesla CEO Elon Musk will have lunch together after their discussion at the palace. Last year, Musk paid $44 billion to purchase the social media business Twitter.
Musk will also attend the sixth annual “Choose France” event, which will be hosted at Versailles this year to promote foreign investment in France.
According to Le Maire on BFM TV, electric cars would be one of the numerous topics addressed between the administration and Musk.
In answer to a query from BFM TV, Le Maire said, “All investments that are being made today are the result of months or even years of negotiations.”
Macron’s popularity suffered when he suggested increasing the retirement age in France, but he’s been working to re-establish it by spearheading a push to boost the country’s green economy.
