NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers player Matt Barnes posted pictures Tuesday, July 22, of a suspect for his aunt’s murder and asked fans for help in locating him.

The picture captioned, “This dude stabbed my auntie in the neck last week & left her for dead on the sidewalk, she ended up dying on the way to the hospital in the ambulance. If you hv any info on his where abouts contact the #SacPD # SacramentoWeNeedYourHelp #RIPTang”

Some people shifted the focus of the post and accused Barnes of not helping the Williams family financially under this situation. The player got angry and re-posted the picture the next day, replying to the accusations. He said, “[I wanted to] get something off my chest about how judgmental & ignorant some of you people out there are.. Although I shouldn’t explain myself nor justify what I do with MY MONEY, I’ll repeat that…. MY MONEY!!” He then explained he called to tell his cousin he would “take care of the financial side of things.”

According to RushHourDailyTanganyika Williams, Barnes’s aunt, was stabbed in the neck by the suspect Michael Williams and left to die on July 8.

David Williams Jr., Tanganyika’s adult son, said Wednesday, July 23, that he has received several calls after the posts saying the suspect Michael Williams was seen around Sacramento.

David, who is not blood-related to Michael, said Tanganyika and Michael were married, but his mother wanted a divorce.

“There are going to be less and less places that this guy is going to have to hide,” David said.
