The blaze occurred in Teatre nightclub in Atalayas during the early hours of Sunday. The fire service of Murcia shared footage showing firefighters working to control the flames, which had already caused significant damage to the roof. The mayor, Jose Ballesta, confirmed the death toll and expressed devastation, mentioning that rescue teams were still searching for missing individuals. Ballesta stated that the fire, which started at around 6 a.m, had been brought under control, and efforts were underway to determine its cause.
