Patrick Schwarzenegger and Disney’s Bella Thorne will be premiering together in their first big movie, Midnight Sun, a Japanese based 2006 film about a 17-year-old girl named Katie who battles with a skin disease making it impossible for her to have any exposure to sunlight, but she falls in love with a boy named Charlie and it changes her whole life.
Deadline confirmed that the film will be directed by Scott Speer and scripted by Eric Kristen.
According to E! News Schwarzenegger, Thorne and Speer were seen sharing a meal at L.A.’s Mud Hen Tavern back in April to discuss the beginnings of the film.
After the dinner Schwarzenegger posts to Twitter, “cooooool stuff coming.” As for Thorne she decided to share on Instagram with “Disclaimer ***we are just friends”
Recently Thorne posted on instagram with the caption, “Proud to announce this YA romance film with my good friend Patrick and directed by Scott Speers!”

Schwarzenegger currently attends University of Southern California and has debut in films such as The Benchwarmers in 2006, Stuck in Love in 2012, Grown Ups 2 in 2013 and Dear Eleanor in 2015.
Thorne is most known for her Disney Channel role as CeCe Jones in Shake It Up with co-star Zendaya from 2010 to 2013. But she has been paving her acting career by appearing on the big screen with Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day in 2014 and most recently The Duff. Her next movie will be Lifetime’s Perfect High, debuting Saturday, June 27 at 8 pm.
As for director Speer he has filmed the movie Step Up Revolution as is the author of the young adult novel, Immortal City.
Filming for their new movie Midnight Sun will begin this September.
