Upon the recent hacking of the Sony Pictures Corporation’s secret files, it appears that a lot of comic book fan’s dreams will come true. Yet to be confirmed and more of an inside rumor, leaked files state that Spiderman would be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
While this is just a rumor, Disney and Sony were in negotiations regarding the merger of the two titles. The supposed file that was released, but still not confirmed, states that Spiderman may make a secret cameo in the upcoming Captain America film; set to be released on May 6, 2016.
Many fans are awaiting this merger, and hope that this is all true. Spiderman is one of the most famous, if not the most famous superhero around, and is a quintessential part of the marvel community. So, it is only right that he can be seen in the upcoming stories that Marvel plans to make.
It is understandable as to why Sony has been reluctant to release all the rights of this character, because of all the merchandising, and the money that is brought in based on their movies. But, the meetings do appear to show that the two companies may be able to work something out so the fans can be happy.
If these rumors are indeed true, and there really is a leak about the confirmation, it is only a matter of time till the announcement about the merger is made. Until then, comic book fans will be eagerly waiting on the edge of their seats.
