In weirder news, women have been flocking to a Japanese zoo because they find a gorilla there handsome. The gorilla’s name is Shabani and is living at the Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens, and he is considered to be a very handsome gorilla.
He is being seen all over social media talking about how handsome he is.
It all began back in March when visitors started commenting on Shabani’s looks. Terms like Ikemen, which would be the equivalent of handsome guy, and Ikumen, which is the equivalent to hands on dad. Shabani is very active with his two younger children. Which is adorable.
Shabani was born in the Netherlands 18 years ago and came to the Higashiyama Zoo in 2007. In human years Shabani would be in his thirties, so he’s the George Clooney of the animal kingdom. Weird, but a lot of social media posts do compare the two of them all the time.
The zookeeper, Takayuki Ishikawa, has noticed that the attendance of women has doubled for the gorillas. They have always been popular, but now the gorillas have increased in popularity. Ishikawa has said that all gorillas have striking features.
“Perhaps because more people have actually taken the time to really look at them, they are noticing for the first time how attractive gorillas are.”
