Warner Media launched its new streaming device, HBO Max today with a few shortcomings from the list of supported devices. Max isn’t present on Amazon Fire TV or Roku.
It isn’t a technical issue that will be fixed suddenly. The Vice President of Warner Media’s communication, Chris Willard stated that, currently, there isn’t any deal to bring the services to the platform.
Amazon also gave a statement this afternoon in which the company stated that the main disagreement is in bringing HBO Max to the Prime Video Channels. However, this is somewhat, HBO’s confusing and challenging strategy.
For people who haven’t been following the HBO Now, the app has now been updated to HBO Max, which includes HBO and a bit of other content. Meanwhile, HBO will operate as a single brand.

The company stated that the parent company of Warner Media AT&T denies the access of HBO customers to the expanded catalog.
Here is the full statement issued by the company:
Around 5 million HBO streamers access the subscriptions through Amazon’s Prime Video Channels. After the launch of HBO Max, AT&T has denied the excess of loyal customers to the expanded catalog. We think that if you are already paying for HBO, you will get new programming through your methods. This is excellent customer service and a top priority for us.
Meanwhile, a Roku statement also mentioned the unresolved issues. “HBO Max will get a great benefit from the content marketing capabilities available on our platform. We are also focusing on positive distribution agreements with new OTT services. We will give amazing user experience in 40 million households that use Roku to access favorite programs and know about the new content. Unfortunately, there isn’t any agreement with HBOMax. We look towards helping HBO to scale their streaming business.
Warner Media also stated that they are thrilled that HBO Max for launch through several devices. We want to make HBO Max available on every platform.
