Alejandra Rositto has been named Chief Executive Officer of Bottega Veneta Americas.

Rositto comes to the Italian luxury label from Fendi, where she served as vice president of retail in the United States since 2016.

Rositto formerly worked for Louis Vuitton from 2003 to 2016. She began her career as the French luxury house’s head of marketing and communication in Spain, before moving on to supervise client development, digital, and retail across Europe and the United States.

Rositto reports to Bottega Veneta CEO Bartolomeo “Leo” Rongone and is a member of the house’s executive committee.

Rositto’s “vast luxury and retail experience,” according to Rongone, “will further accelerate Bottega Veneta’s expansion in the Americas, fulfilling the brand’s full potential in the region.”

Rositto succeeds Gerrit Ruetzel, who has been the region’s president and CEO since 2017.

The announcement came just days before Bottega Veneta’s Salon 03 exhibition in Detroit on Oct. 21.

This is Daniel Lee’s third new-format show, and it will debut the brand’s spring 2022 collection.

Salon displays are intended to take the role of traditional runway shows. The brand staged their Salon 01 spring 2021 exhibition at London’s Sadler’s Wells Theatre and converted the event into a video with behind-the-scenes footage and a theatrical setting. Salon 02 was held in Berlin after that.

The United States is becoming an increasingly important market for the company. Bottega Veneta created a summer pop-up in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, which remained open until the end of September, as previously reported. Lee is said to have been drawn to the area because of its recent history of artistic and counterculture groups.

Kering, a French luxury conglomerate, owns Bottega Veneta.

With a new, visually focused digital magazine called Issue, the brand abandoned social media earlier this year and began exploring different methods to communicate with its collaborators and global audience.
