Ex Harry Potter star and one of Hollywood’s starlets, Emma Watson has announced that she will be starring in the new Disney live action film, “Beauty and the Beast” as Belle.
The announcement came from Watson herself via Facebook stating, “I’m finally able to tell you… that I will be playing Belle in Disney’s new live-action Beauty and the Beast! It was such a big part of my growing up, it almost feels surreal that I’ll get to dance to ‘Be Our Guest’ and sing ‘Something There’. My six-year-old self is on the ceiling – heart bursting. Time to start some singing lessons. I can’t wait for you to see it. Emma xx”
According to Disney, the film will begin filming later next year and as Watson stated, she’ll be needing some singing lessons, which basically means, they are keeping the “Beauty and the Beast” classic a musical (sigh of relief). The film will be directed by “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” director Bill Condon and produced by David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman.
Could this new “Beauty and the Beast” replace the legendary “Frozen” when it comes to love, devotion and most importantly, ratings? With Watson at the lead, it will definitely give it a run for its money.
