Ex-Liverpool striker Fowler to manage second-tier Saudi team

Former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler has been named as the coach of Saudi Arabian second division team Al-Qadsiah. The announcement was made on Thursday, with the club sharing a picture on Twitter of Fowler signing the contract while wearing the club scarf. Al-Qadsiah, who finished 11th in the previous season, did not disclose the details of the contract, but local media reports suggest it will be for one season. Fowler, who represented England 26 times, enjoyed a successful playing career in the Premier League, scoring 183 goals in 369 matches for Liverpool and also playing for clubs like Leeds United and Manchester City. However, his coaching career has not matched the same level of success, having managed teams such as Thai Muangthong United, Australian Brisbane Roar, and India’s East Bengal. The news was reported by Osama Khairy and edited by Ken Ferris. The article adheres to the Thomson RushHourDaily Trust Principles.
