Adam Koessler has been dealing with one of the hardest obstacles that parents would have to face, and that is watching their child be unhealthy and dying.
Adam’s daughter, Rumer Rose was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma and is undergoing phases of chemotherapy, but in order to supplement the process her father has been giving his daughter cannabis oil, a therapy that has had “amazing results,” according to Adam.
Adam and his daughter currently live in Australia, a country where medical marijuana is illegal, this resulted in Adam being arrested for supplying a dangerous drug to a minor as well as possession.
Part of Adam’s bail states that he may not see his child, but Koessler had this to say, to the Newcastle Herald, regarding the treatments, “Her cancer-ridden little body was alive again – Rumer had almost instant quality of life. She would say, ‘Daddy, tummy’s not sore’ and she would be able to eat like a champion and began to gain weight.”
Many are petitioning Adam’s arrest and how he is unable to see his ill child. Almost 40,000 people have already signed the petition for his release, 30,000 have joined the Facebook Page regarding his support, and 14,000 dollars has also been raised to help with Rumors natural treatments.
The petition read, “It is inhumane and unjust to keep a parent, who acted out of love for his child (and) wanting to prolong her life, away from her during such severe illness. Adam Koessler deserves to have his parental rights to see his child reinstated, the charges against him dismissed by a court, and the right to decide the treatment options for his own child.”
This is a controversial subject particularly because the child is so young, but people understand that Adam is trying to only help his child by any means possible; he is doing what he can as a father. If Adam is sent to jail knowing his daughter is suffering, it is only going to make this situation even worse for both.
