Melissa Rivers, the daughter of the late comedian Joan Rivers has hired a team of legal investigators to investigate the circumstances of her mother’s death.
Rivers, 81, died September 4 2014 of cardiac arrest while having a throat procedure done. Famously known for her comedic talents, she and daughter Melissa where hosts of the popular show “Joan and Melissa” as well as “Fashion Police”. Rivers was outspoken, loud and glorious to the very end.
“My mother would have been overwhelmed by the scope and depth of the love that people have expressed for her. It is certainly helping to lift our spirits during this time. We are forever grateful for your kindness and support in continuing to honor my mother’s legacy, and for remembering the joy and laughter that she brought to so many,” stated Melissa via her webpage WhoSay.
Ben Rubinowitz, via CBS News stated, “In order to fully determine the facts and circumstances surrounding the death of Joan Rivers, we confirm that our firm has been engaged by Melissa Rivers and her family.”
Melissa will have to file a suit in order to obtain her mother’s medical records, as certain records are not turned over to family when a loved one dies. She must start probate proceedings to appoint an executer. Melissa and her son Copper are said to have inherited Rivers 100 million dollar estate. The more and more answers they receive about the sudden death the more question arise. Melissa who has been very private since her mothers passing would not make this decision lightly.
