During the photoshoot for her collaboration with Violet Grey, the beauty Rose Byrne, star of “Spy,” got hit with glitter. And as everyone knows glitter sticks around for pretty much, ever. She said she kept finding sparkles in between her toes after the shoot. But there were other photos that were less shiny. There are ones where she is wearing a very elaborate eyeliner that just looks beautiful. And since this is about beauty, Byrne had a few things to say about it.
Byrne expresses how women are judged so harshly for their appearances
“Look at Hillary Clinton. She has to spend time getting her hair and makeup done when a male candidate doesn’t have to do that as much. Or at least as much grooming,” says Byrne. “It really is this very old concept that we are valued for putting ourselves together and presenting ourselves….However, it’s important to take care of yourself and it doesn’t hurt to put on a bit of lipstick.”
Byrne emphasizes by this that women have more pressure to look their absolute best all the time, and how it shouldn’t be that big of a deal. On the flip side, beauty and makeup is fun. If you want to throw on a fun lipstick do it, but for yourself.
Byrne also discusses her thoughts on beauty as a whole.
“Beauty comes from within. It is a cliché, but I think it’s true. In this business, it’s hard to reconcile that when you’re constantly being told things about your appearance, whether you’re too pretty or too plain or brunette or whatever their problem is.” Preach, girl, preach!
