A 21 year old has been reported dead this past Saturday in a hotel room in Times Square. The deceased was Sabrina Cammock, a Syracuse student from Queens, N.Y. Cammock was a track and field star for Syracuse University who was celebrating spring break with some of her teammates and classmates.
A police source told New York Daily News that Cammock and the rest of the girls all went to sleep, but Cammock never woke up. Her friends frantically called 911, and tried to revive the student, but it was clear that she was unresponsive
A medical examiner will conduct an autopsy to find out what the track star died from, as there was no signs of trauma reported. No drugs were found in the room, and there were no signs of an overdose.
Kemal Brown told the paper, “She’s better than anybody you know. She’s a baby and she’s gone.”
It’s needless to say that the Cammock family is devastated and speechless for the recent events; meanwhile her teammates and coaches are also shocked and overwhelmed with grief at what has happened to their friend.
Chris Fox, Cammock’s track coach shared this statement about the departed, “Sabrina was a wonderful and remarkable person, and student-athlete. Our team and coaching staff are devastated by her loss. All of our thoughts are with Sabrina’s family and friends.”
Syracuse University issued a letter regarding the incident where they showed condolences by stating, “It is a painful time for our entire campus community whenever we are faced with a tragedy such as this. We mourn as a campus community with all those whose lives Sabrina touched.”
