Taylor Swift radiates on the 40th anniversary cover of, “People Magazine.” She portrays the image of Great Gatsby star, Mia Farrow, which was issued back in 1974. Swift, 24, holds a classic set of pearls between her pearly whites, with her hair chicly styled like the 1920s.
In the 40th anniversary issue, Swift admits to PEOPLE, “The last couple of years have been about defining life on my own terms.”
Known for her past relationship flops, Swift is often mocked in the media for dating and then writing a song about her experiences. She has been linked to fellow stars such as, Taylor Lautner, 22, Jake Gyllenhaal, 33, Harry Styles, 20, and Nick Jonas, 22.
She continued, “I used to be fascinated by romance. Now I’m more realistic.”
The pop star is trying to focus her attention on her friends, family and career. She’s trying to discover who she is, with out the opinions of others. She shakes things up in her new album, providing fans with a message of independence.
Swift adds, “I’m not too worried about whether I meet someone. I’m going to be happy either way.”
Her new album, 1989, is set to be released at the end of October.
