You must have seen at least one movie starring Will Smith. But if you ask me as a movie fan, these stats would be more because he is such an amazing actor!
Who would have thought that a casual teenaged Will in “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” (an American sitcom in the ’90s) would be excelling as an impactful actor in the upcoming years? Moreover, Will Smith is also a rapper, and his record, namely “Summertime,” has also landed him a Grammy Award.

1) The Pursuit of Happyness – Will Smith as Chris Gardner
Oh yes! This was a predictable one at #1 on this list. In this 2006 blockbuster, Will Smith has depicted the life of “Chris Gardner”. This movie revolves around the struggles of a single dad who finds it hard to make ends meet. He is a salesman who seems to fail miserably in his career and has a kid to feed. This is just one of those movies that left millions of fans to feel the pain and different emotions vividly.
The greatest aspect of this movie or biopic by Will Smith is the constant perseverance that character of Gardner goes through. Even though Gardner had invested all of his savings on a product he could not sell, he was high in spirits, as shown in this movie. Chris Gardner even took an unpaid internship for the exposure and lived at a homeless shelter with his son with hopes to flip his fate.
2) Concussion – Will Smith as Dr. Bennet Omalu
Ok! So I don’t know about you, but I thoroughly enjoyed watching this movie. In this biopic, Will Smith depicts the character of Bennet Omalu. Omalu (ages 52-still alive) is an American-Nigerian pathologist and neuropathologist who introduced the concept of ECT. This movie released in 2015 and instantly became a major hit because of the case put forward by Omalu.
The biopic revolves around Omalu’s character, who spends most of his time diagnosing autopsies. Omalu once got an autopsy of NFL superstar Mike Webster who had attempted suicide because of certain brain conditions. However, recurring deaths of other NFL players in the same era led Bennet Omalu to present the occurrence of concussions due to heavy strikes during the game that ultimately ruptures the brain. What happens next? Do watch the amazing biopic starring Will Smith to find out more!
3) ALI – As Legendary Mohammad Ali
This is one of the most controversial biopics performed by Will Smith! In 2001, Smith went onto producing another entertainment gem by starring as the boxing champion Mohammad Ali in the biopic name “Ali”. This movie reflects deeply about racism that defined that era, and many African American leaders had become a victim of it. This biopic digs deep into the professional career and personal life of Mohammad Ali.
Under the influence of Malcolm X, Mohammad Ali decides to embrace Islam. However, when the war had hit Vietnam and was called in the war, Ali had abruptly refused to take part in it on a humanitarian basis. This refusal had caused Ali not only to lose his championship title, but he also went broke. However, a famous boxing match with George Foreman resulted in his comeback and claimed what was rightly his. The most amazing part about this biopic is the surreal acting that leaves you captivated and reliving all those moments!
