A woman was shocked and caught off guard after she learned that her home, which sits on the border if New York and Connecticut is actually half owned by her neighbor.
Rosanne Di Guilio recently discovered that her bank did not pay the property taxes for half of the home, which resides on the New York border. Technically her living room, kitchen, and her porch all belong to her neighbor, a woman named Alethea Jacob. Jacob’s was able to buy the .2 acres of the half acre plot land at a local county auction for a measly 275 dollars.
Homeowner Di Guilio, responded to her neighbors actions stating “It’s sickening. She’s an opportunist. How do you sleep when you do something like this?”
Di Guilio is now fighting the foreclosure of her home in court and stated that her neighbor, Jacob, is demanding 150,000 dollars for the land that she bought. Di Guilio believes that Jacob bought the land so she could use her septic tank because hers was broken claiming, “I believe she bought it to be able to use my septic. It would be thousands of dollars to fix her own.”
Di Guilio is a 52-year-old electrical contractor who has been living on the property since 1997 and is clearly upset because she feels that other parties are to blame for the unfortunate occurrence.
