So far, India has reported fewer cases of coronavirus as compared to the other countries, but the Indian cure of coronavirus is already available. The politicians, as well as the nationalist elements, lead the misleading advice against the spread of the virus.
Cow urine and dung
There was a time when cow urine and the dung were considered as a traditional cure to various kinds of sickness in India. But those were backward times, and the people had a lack of scientific knowledge.
However, recently the Bharatiya Janata Party’s member of parliament, Suman Haripriya, advised the use of them against the novel coronavirus. He said, “The cow dung has a lot of benefits, and I think it can cure even coronavirus. The cow urine could also help.”
In fact, a Hindu nationalist had organized a party in order to promote the use of cow urine as a cure for the coronavirus.
However, Dr Shailendra Saxena, of Indian Virological Society, has told the media that there is no physical evidence regarding the purported quality in cow urine against the coronavirus.
Furthermore, the cow dung could be counterproductive in this regard as it might contain the coronavirus that could be transmitted into a man.
Cowpathy Hand Sanitizer
Besides making the soap from the cow dung, an Indian company, Cowpathy, has been selling an alcohol-free since 2018 that made from the cow urine.
Currently, the product is out of stock, and its web page reads, “Due to excessive demand, we’re limiting the selling of the product per person so that it could reach as many consumers as possible.”
In addition, a yoga guru who teaches yoga at a renowned Hindi news channel recently suggested the people make homemade sanitizers with herbs.
He also claimed that by using some ayurvedic herbs, turmeric and tulsi leaves could also serve as a cure for the coronavirus.
However, the World Health Organization and the US-based Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have stressed the significance of the alcohol-based sanitizers.

Sally Bloomfield is a professor at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She says that any homemade hand sanitizer would be ineffective, as even Vodka contains only 40 percent of alcohol.
Vegetarianism
Last week, the Indian state of Haryana’s health minister, Anil Vij, appealed to the people not to eat meat.
In his tweet, he said, “Be vegetarian and don’t create various kinds of viruses, including the coronavirus, by eating meat. Don’t put humanity at risk.”
Meanwhile, another Hindu nationalist claimed that coronavirus had been sent as a punishment for the meat-eaters.
However, the Union Minister Giriraj Singh refuted this by saying, “Coronavirus doesn’t spread by eating fish, poultry or eggs,” adding that besides poultry and fish, the eggs are an essential source of protein and can be eaten without a second thought.
‘Anti-Coronavirus’ Mattress
Another aspect of the Indian cure of coronavirus has extended to an unusual dimension, enabling many businesses to sell their products by exploiting people’s fears.
For example, an “Anti-Corona virus Mattress” has been introduced in the market.
Arihant Mattress Company’s Managing Director, Amar Parekh, told BBC that “This mattress is anti-fungal, and it is also anti-allergic and dust-proof. It’s waterproof, and nothing could penetrate it.”
However, the company has now taken off this advertisement.
He later said that “I don’t want to harm anyone, and as soon as we saw a reaction, we took off its advertisement.”
