A lot of people were celebrating the Supreme Court’s ruling that marriage equality will be in all 50 states. Most, if not all, took to social media to express their joy and happiness over the decision. Probably the best people to celebrate the historic decision are Sir Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi.
On Buzzfeed’s Vine account there is the pair of them throwing confetti with “We are the Champions” playing in the background. Jacobi looks at McKellen and proposes. The proposal was all in good fun and the two are not getting married, but McKellen did accept. Also adding “And now I can.”
The two of them were also wearing The Stonewall Inn shirts, which is a bar that is considered the birthplace of the American gay-rights movement. McKellen was also wearing a rainbow accented fedora to go with his t-shirt. Their joyous Vine is infectious and you can’t help but smile.
The pair of them are going to be the grand marshals for this Sunday’s Gay Pride March in Manhattan. It will also be the first time that both of them will be attending the event.
