Rolls Royce has decided to give us a glimpse into the feature of luxury automobiles, at least how they interpret it, with the 103EX concept.
Rolls Royce has decided to take things back to their coach building roots with the 103EX. They believe the future of high-end luxury cars will consist of full autonomy and very custom one-off vehicles. Meaning each customer’s car will be drastically different from one another and the buyer will be able to implement their vision with little to no restrictions.
The 103EX’s cabin contains ultra-high end materials such as wool carpeting, Macassar wood paneling, a large OLED display and bench seating which essentially classifies as a sofa that Rolls Royce is calling the “best seat in the house”. This vision of the future also produces zero emissions. That’s right, you read that correctly, an all electric Rolls Royce.
The 103EX concept is definitely one of the strangest combinations of new and old we’ve ever seen. The classic Rolls Royce analog clock and umbrella are still present, however, everything else seems very odd. The car will be making an appearance at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed next week for those who’d like to get a closer look at the car/modern coach wagon.
Of corse, this is only a concept and not a model that is not planned for production any time. So if you, like the rest of the car community, gaze upon the 103EX with looks of disgust and disgrace, you’ll be happy to know you won’t be bumping into on the road in the near future.
